Payam Aghassi, MD, FCCP, attended Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and he received his medical degree in 1996. Then, he relocated to the United States, where he served his internal medicine residency at UMass Medical School. In addition, he completed his fellowships in pulmonary disease medicine and critical care medicine at UMass Medical School. Dr. Aghassi received board certification in internal medicine, sleep medicine, pulmonary disease medicine, and critical care medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. And, he remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations.
